Mommy, Mummy etc.. is amongst the first sound most human babies make. It is the first babbling sound because it is the simplest, after open mouthed wailing. To say mommy one simply has to interrupt the air flow by closing the lips. You can make a plastic pipe say mommy, by closing the end of it with the hand, and releasing it.
